Cause-Specific Mortality
Thyroid Cancer
This nomogram predicts cause-specific mortality for an individual with differentiated thyroid cancer. Because the mortality rate from thyroid cancer is relatively low, a relatively large fraction of people with thyroid cancer may actually die of causes other than thyroid cancer. To account for this, a competing-risks regression analysis was used, to avoid overestimation of thyroid cancer-specific mortality.
Enter the patient details below to calculate the predicted cause-specific mortality over a given period of time.
This web-based nomogram calculator is based on a competing risks model built from a series of 9,666 differentiated thyroid cancer patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.
