It is with great regret that we report the retirement of Robin Goodfellow. Robin's column has been a popular feature of the journal for the past five years and will be greatly missed. Very few people actually managed to correctly identify Robin, although he does have a high profile in UK rheumatology circles. The column was uniquely his and is therefore not easily replicated. We are at present not planning a direct replacement. The Editorial team and readership are very grateful to Robin for all his hard work trawling through the world's journals for arcane, educational and humorous items. We are as baffled as he is that his helpful suggestions for new journals have not for some bizarre reason been taken up by our publishers. We will miss the Journal of Gnomic Research, and wish Robin well in his new field of endeavour.
The editorial board has not decided what type of column should take the place of Robin Goodfellow. We would be interested to have reader views as to whether we should have a similar column, possibly a review of rheumatology from around the world in the future. Suggestions can be emailed to editorial{at}rheumatology.org.uk.
