 INTRODUCTION

At the request of The Endocrine Society president Dr. William Crowley, Molecular Endocrinology and the other three Endocrine Society journals will devote their June 2002 issues to topics consistent with the ENDO 2002 Annual Meeting theme: "The Impact of the Human Genome Project on Endocrinology." The editors of Molecular Endocrinology are seeking submissions of manuscripts that use genomic and proteomic approaches to address the mechanisms underlying hormone action in pertinent biological systems. While we welcome manuscripts that analyze gene and protein expression profiles, we are especially interested in studies that utilize bioinformatic tools available for human, mouse, and other model organisms to identify specific candidate genes or proteins and to test their functional significance. The final deadline for submissions is January 4, 2002. Please indicate explicitly in your cover letter that you wish to have the manuscript considered for the June issue.
