A News story in the March 16 issue of the Journal ("Clinical Trials Registration Efforts Gain Some Ground," p. 410) incorrectly reported that Terry Toigo, of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, did not expect to see a large increase in submissions to the ClinicalTrials.gov database because there was little increase in monthly submissions between 2002 and 2004. According to Toigo, beginning in June 2004, submission rates to ClinicalTrials.gov almost doubled, and she expects that the overall submission rates for 2004 will be better than 2002.

In addition, the story incorrectly reported that ClinicalTrials.gov does not provide links to published results of clinical trials. The database does provide citations and links to PubMed abstracts of published trial results, but the results are not summarized within ClinicalTrials.gov.

In the same issue, the News story "Scientists Concerned About Future of Atomic Bomb Survivors Project" (p. 416) should have stated that Charles Waldren, Ph.D., joined the Radiation Effects Research Foundation from Colorado State University.

The Journal regrets the errors.
