Erratum

"International Collaborative Ovarian Neoplasm Trial 1: A Randomized Trial of Adjuvant Chemotherapy in Women With Early-Stage Ovarian Cancer," by the International Collaborative Ovarian Neoplasm (ICON1) Collaborators [J Natl Cancer Inst 2003;95: 125–32 (Issue 2)]. On page 127 the footnote for Table 1 should read as follows: "{ddagger}Two patients randomized as stages Ic and IIa, respectively, were found to have been stage III, and one patient randomized as stage III was found to have been stage IV."

Starting on page 128, right column under the heading Recurrence-Free Survival, the second sentence should read as follows: "Of the other 133 (28%) patients whose events are included in this analysis, 105 (79%) had disease recurrence (46 in the adjuvant chemotherapy arm and 59 in the no-adjuvant-chemotherapy arm) and 26 (20%) had died without recurrence (eight in the adjuvant chemotherapy arm and 18 in the no-adjuvant-chemotherapy arm), a further two patients (<1%, one in each arm) have died with no information being available on whether or not they had a recurrence prior to death."

The numbers of patients in the CONSORT flow diagram (Fig. 1, page 128) should include the following: In the patients allocated immediate treatment (bottom left box), 186 (77%) alive no recurrence, 13 (5%) alive without recurrence. In the patients allocated no-immediate-adjuvant treatment (bottom right box), 158 (67%) alive no recurrence, 17 (7%) alive with recurrence.

The authors regret the error.
