Vol 269, p. 9052

Page 9053: A detailed study of the minimal sequence requirement for topoisomerase III cleavage, using progressively smaller oligonucleotides surrounding the cleavage site presented in this manuscript, has revealed that the cleavage site was incorrectly placed. Rather than

5`-CAGAATCAGAATGAGCCGCAACTTCGGGATGAAAATGCTCACAAT-3`,

the correct site of cleavage should be indicated as follows:

5`-CAGAATCAGAATGAGCCGCAACTTCGGGATGAAAATGCTCACAAT-3`,

where indicates the site of cleavage. Cleavage of the oligonucleotide by topoisomerase III results in the production of a 5`-radiolabeled 23-base product rather than the 24-base product indicated in the text and the legend of Fig. 6. This observation, however, does not alter the conclusions of the paper.
