RE: "SALMONELLA TYPHIMURIUM INFECTIONS TRANSMITTED BY CHLORINE-PRETREATED CLOVER SPROUT SEEDS"

In the paper by Brooks et al. published in the December 1, 2001, issue of the Journal, paragraph 4 on page 1026 contains an error in wording. The penultimate sentence of the paragraph should read, "Fecal coliform bacteria have been recovered from sprouts grown under aseptic conditions using seeds from which bacteria could not be isolated before sprouting."

The Journal and the authors regret the error.
